November | Fall Style

stylish fall outfit

Hi guys! I can’t believe it’s already November 1st. How in the world did October fly by that quickly? Actually, I’m pretty sure this entire year has flown by faster than ever as well. It feels like it was just a couple of months ago that I moved all the way from San Diego to Cleveland, when in reality it’s going on 6 months. Crazy to think we’ve been here almost half a year.

With that being said – I was FINALLY unpacking some boxes the other day when I came across the snake print top I am wearing in these photos. I got this top from Urban Outfitters around the time I started my job in San Diego, and I was there for about 8.5 years so that means the shirt is old AF. This top hung in my closet for years and occasionally I would feel inspired to wear it but there were a definitely a few years that went by without me touching it. Flash forward to last week when I came across this top again and I was able to see it in a new light. I thought it would be super cute with a fall color palette, and snake (all animal print really) is super huge this season so I knew it would be easy to come up with a stylish fall outfit with this shirt.

It can be SO tempting to run to the mall or place an online order for something new when we feel we have ‘nothing to wear‘, AMIRITE?! I mean I am the first person to raise my hand here. However, I’ve been thinking a lot about personal style lately and to me it isn’t about having a shiny new bag, a new pair of shoes, or that cute ass sweater off the Nordstrom website. Of course those things are fun – don’t get me wrong. But to me personal style is really about pieces that you can go back to year after year and incorporate into your outfit in fresh new ways. Sometimes when I’m in a style rut this actually helps me because it forces me to be creative with my clothing rather than slapping something new on and calling it a day.

So with that, I would love to challenge you babes to find something in your closet this month and style it in a fresh new way. Add a belt, a scarf, a different jacket, layer a t-shirt under a dress, add some tights – there are so many ways to mix it up this fall. If you want ideas feel free to DM me or shoot me an email, I love talking about this type of stuff. And if you feel up to the challenge I would love to see what you come up with! You can use the hashtag #blameitonbarneyschallenge or DM me so I can see. I might even have a fun surprise for my favorite look at the end of the month!

You guys might have already seen this photo of River and I on Instagram but had to include it here as well! His coat is from the North Face and we went a size up (3T) which I definitely recommend.

For the Blank NYC moto jacket I’m wearing I did a size Small and I love the way it fits. I would say it fits TTS  – maybe slightly on the smaller side but not too bad. If you want to add layers underneath it you can go up a size.

PS the shoes are also old…you can see how I styled them last year here.

    1. Hi Cherese! Thanks for asking – I wear these three necklaces all the time. The top small choker is from Miranda Frye Jewelry – I believe it is the ‘Kate’ choker. The two coin necklaces are from Love Tatum – the larger of the two is called the ‘heaven knows’ coin necklace and the smaller is the ‘Kali Coin Necklace’ – here is her site: https://www.lovetatum.com/ – Hope that helps! xx
