The Best Levi’s Styles | Friday Favorites

best Levi's styles

Guys, if you haven’t noticed #IHaveThisThingWithDenim. I wanted to do a Friday favorites based around some of the best Levi’s styles I’ve found. This is totally not sponsored by Levi’s, I just really love their denim.

There are a few things I typically look for in a pair of jeans. The first is that I like my jeans high waisted. If you’ve been watching my Insta Stories lately you know what I mean. Don’t get me wrong, I still have a few pairs of jeans from awhile back that aren’t high waisted that I will wear but more often than not I just feel more comfortable in high waisted jeans. You can tuck tops in easier, you can wear crop tops, they suck everything in, the list goes on.

Not only do I like them high waisted but I also like some sort of distressing. They don’t need to be torn to shreds – in fact I prefer if they’re not. However, I do like a hole in the knee, a frayed hem, or some distressing around the edges of the pockets.

Now that you know what I look for in a pair of jeans, keep reading for a break down of my favorite Levi’s styles.

Okay so vintage jeans might not be ‘of the moment’ but if you know me you know I love vintage clothing. Especially vintage denim. You can scour the thrift store for a good pair and don’t be afraid to buy them if they are a tad to big. You can always take them to a tailor and have them taken in a bit at the waist or tapered at the bottom. I even know someone who found a fabulous pair of vintage Levi’s in the kids section of the thrift store – they look like the cropped 501’s they are selling now.

So don’t be scared to venture out, keep your eye open, and you might just find a gem! The ones in the photo above are from NYC Vintage clothing store, The Vintage Twin. However, if you have the cash I also love RE/DONE but they are a little more pricey than your average thrift or vintage store.

501 Skinny JeansĀ the best Levi's styles

I can’t really describe my excitement when I found these jeans. I randomly ventured over to the Free People store in Cleveland and wasn’t looking for anything in particular when I came across these. I tried my size on at first which was a big hell no – they were huge! I went down a size and they were just perfect. Super snug but these jeans have a thicker denim that tends to stretch slightly after a wear or two. I just got these this summer and I wear them all.the.time. You can see me wearing them here and here as well. Again, I recommend sizing down but if you want a looser fit you can take your normal size.

So I wear these almost as much as my 501 Skinny Jeans, they are skinnier throughout the leg, super high waisted, and have the perfect amount of distressing that I love. I also noticed they come in a plus size version too which is awesome! Again, these are skinnier throughout the entire leg than the 501’s so they have less of that ‘vintage’ look but are great for layering chunky sweaters over, wearing with crop tops, tucking t-shirts into, etc. You can see me wearing these here and here as well for examples of how they fit.

Full disclosure – I don’t actually own this style yet. However they are a part of the ShopBop sale going on right now so I have them in my cart. I was able to wear these for a photo shoot I did over the summer with Haven boutique and fell IN LOVE. I’ve seen all the bloggers rocking these for quite some time now and have always loved the look.
