belted outfit idea for fallFeeling in an outfit rut lately? Same girl, same. I’ve found that one of the easiest ways to dress yourself out of it is to add a fun accessory. A belt is my go-to for this easy style hack. The one I’m wearing in the belted outfit above is from B-Low the Belt… I had wanted this belt forever and when I was pregnant I finally decided to break down and buy it. So funny that it took a baby bump to motivate me to buy a belt! Anyhow the belt IS a little bit of an investment for a belt so if you want to try the look before going all in I found this one that looks just like it’s only $21!

Keep reading for three trendy ways to style a belted outfit this season…

1. Wear a belt over a long cardigan like I did in the photo above. This way you’re gonna stay warm but still making a stylish statement. The key here is to make sure the cardigan is long enough to cinch the waist. Ideally you’ll want to pick a cardigan long enough to cover your bum.

2. Belt a blazer. This is my favorite look of the moment, right on trend and so stylish! Find an oversized blazer that you love (if you’re on a budget or like vintage check out the men’s section of your local thrift store). When belting a blazer depending on the fit you may not want to button the blazer but just cross one side over the other and pull tighter at the waist, then put your belt on to lock it in place. I love how Danielle of WeWoreWhat styled this look in a recent Instagram post here.

3. Add a belt to that silky slip dress. Slip dresses have been trending hard for the past few seasons and they aren’t going anywhere this season. My new favorite way to style them is to add a belt to the waist. The girls over at Dannijo show us how it’s done, see what I mean here. I recommend throwing a moto jacket over top if you don’t live somewhere warm enough to go sleeveless still.
