Vintage Blazer

Vintage Blazer

Hi, all! Happy Monday. We’re starting the week off a bit rainy and gloomy here in CLE but that’s what cold pizza leftovers are for, right?! We stopped by Angelo’s Pizza in Lakewood last night for their deep dish pizza and omg, so good. There’s also a darling little vintage shop right next door called Vintage Fashion CLE. Of course I had to pop in and take a look around – such good stuff.

It’s funny because I haven’t been wearing vintage as much lately but was actually wearing this vintage blazer at the time. I picked this blazer up last winter in California at a little thrift store up the street from our old house. It’s vintage Ralph Lauren and was only $10! If you’re not into thrifting, I get it – not everyone is – I linked a few similar blazers for you below. I have been rocking blazers in so many of my recent posts, I almost want to apologize but then I realize I truly just love blazers so no apology needed haha.

A few tips to finding a bomb vintage blazer at the thrift store:

  1. Go to the men’s department – I often find my vintage blazers from the men’s department at the thrift store. I mean not ALWAYS, but often. They tend to give that oversized fit thats trending right now so you don’t even have to worry about sizing up, they’re just naturally cut a bit looser.
  2. Check the item thoroughly for stains, rips, etc – You might find THE PERFECT item but then bring it home only to realize there are armpit stains -ew, gross! Or a tear in the lining. Things like a tear in the lining can easily be fixed but others are harder to repair so just keep your eye out.
  3. Bring your smartphone so you can google brands. You might hit gold and find a vintage designer blazer and you can easily figure it out by googling the brand if you aren’t familiar
  4. Buy it too big rather than too small – It is much easier to get something tailored DOWN rather than trying to make it bigger. If you LOVE something but it’s just too big, grab it anyway and then google the best tailor in your area. They usually don’t charge much to bring something in at the seams.

And of course who would I be if I didn’t complete my look with my Levi’s 501 skinny jeans and Love Tatum gold coin necklaces?! I recommend sizing down on the jeans – because their that stiffer denim they stretch slightly after a wear or two. Oh, and I added a new accessory which are these fun glasses. I’ve had them forever but don’t wear them a lot. Sometimes I like to switch things up and wear them for fun though. The lenses in these are fake but I do actually have real glasses that I wear for watching TV and doing work on the computer sometimes.

Do you guys have any accessories you like to wear for fun?! Leave me a comment and let me know! Now, off to clean the house and get dinner ready for tonight. I’m thinking some kind of hot soup…
