Red & White Polka Dots for Fall

After shooting these photos I realized I really need to tweak my idea of a fall/winter wardrobe. Like hunny, you’re not in California anymore. You’re in Ohio and today is a brisk 35 degrees babe. Lucky for me it was in the upper 40’s when we shot this look but STILL I was pretty darn cold. I still think this look could work here in Ohio for the fall/winter months if you were going out for holiday dinner or drinks with friends and had a big teddy bear coat to throw over top for the few minutes you’re outside. I could totally see this top with some chic wide leg dress pants like these for a holiday gathering. read more

From Studio to Street with Phat Buddha

I can’t lie, if I have stylish workout clothes it totally motivates me to get dressed and get my workout done for the day. It doesn’t hurt if said workout set is cute enough to throw a leather jacket on with to grab coffee & run errands afterwards.

I recently partnered with activewear brand Phat Buddha to style some of my favorite looks from their current collection. As soon as I received the pieces I was impressed with not only the fit but how soft the fabric is. These pieces let you BREATHE guys – like you can exhale and you don’t feel like your insides are being pushed up inside of you if you know what I mean. Their pieces are made from organically conscious materials and they use a seamless fabrication method which I’m assuming has a lot to do with the comfort level being 100. read more

Over the Knee Boot Season

This week has been the most beautiful fall week EVER. I honestly forgot how absolutely gorgeous fall weather can be – especially when the sun is shining. Because the weather has been so gorgeous I’ve been able to get away with wearing outfits like this one. Showing a *little* leg didn’t kill me the day these pictures were taken because everything else was covered up so I felt comfortable. As the weather cools down you can add thicker tights and a big chunky scarf to outfits like this one to make it more do-able for lower temps. read more

How to Style a Neutral Outfit for Fall

I’m a big fan of a neutral outfit, no matter the season. Paired with the right accessories I think white or any other neutral can be worn year round. The key to styling a neutral fall outfit is to mix textures and prints into the outfit while keeping them all the same tone. For instance, the outfit I am wearing here the items are all either white, cream, tan, or slightly darker tan/brown. A short range of colors keeps it simple. Then, by pairing different textures & prints like the chunky knit cardigan (use code lauren04 for 20% off), felt hat, and snake slides it adds some dimension to the outfit. There are a few things I typically look for in a pair of jeans. The first is that I like my jeans high waisted. If you’ve been watching my Insta Stories lately you know what I mean. Don’t get me wrong, I still have a few pairs of jeans from awhile back that aren’t high waisted that I will wear but more often than not I just feel more comfortable in high waisted jeans. Hi guys! I can’t believe it’s already November 1st. How in the world did October fly by that quickly? Actually, I’m pretty sure this entire year has flown by faster than ever as well. It feels like it was just a couple of months ago that I moved all the way from San Diego to Cleveland, when in reality it’s going on 6 months. Crazy to think we’ve been here almost half a year.

With that being said – I was FINALLY unpacking some boxes the other day when I came across the snake print top I am wearing in these photos. I got this top from Urban Outfitters around the time I started my job in San Diego, and I was there for about 8.5 years so that means the shirt is old AF. This top hung in my closet for years and occasionally I would feel inspired to wear it but there were a definitely a few years that went by without me touching it. Flash forward to last week when I came across this top again and I was able to see it in a new light. I thought it would be super cute with a fall color palette, and snake (all animal print really) is super huge this season so I knew it would be easy to come up with a stylish fall outfit with this shirt. read more
