// LEATHER WEATHER //

All black ensembles are one of my all time favorites. There is just something clean and chic about wearing all black when the pieces are right. I like to mix different textures when doing a monochromatic look like this one, i.e. the faux leather skirt paired with a lightweight knit.

When you incorporate different textures it adds layers & depth without really adding on the layers- which, let’s face it, we can’t really be dealing with too many layers right now in so-cal. As in, our fall weather has just hit the 90 degree mark. Give a monochromatic look a try this weekend and see how you like it! It makes a statement without screaming “look at me”. More of an understated statement you could say. You could try it with leather pants and a cashmere sweater, think soft meets hard, feminine meets edgy.

  1. This is a fantastic look! And I love the way you described it as 'understated statement' . I think the best looks are like that. I aim for that most of the times but it's not as easy as it seems. I'm gonna have to remember what you said 'soft meets hard' and 'feminine meets edgy'.
    Thank you for explaining it! 😀
