Today I am talking about something that many of you mamas out there might understand all too well…Mom Guilt. It’s the worst. Something a lot of you might not know about me is that I work full time and my husband is a stay at home Dad. I actually love our arrangement most days, but then some days I find myself feeling guilty for working and not being at home with my babe. I start to ask myself questions like, ‘shouldn’t I be home with him? I am his mom after all…’ But my husband is such an AMAZING Dad he makes me feel so good about going to work and is always reassuring me that I am providing for the family right now and that is okay.
Anyhow, I wanted to share a few tips of how I have been dealing with the work-life balance and being a working mom. I would also love to hear from all of you with any tips you have for managing being a (new-ish) mom and working and still trying to have a life but not feeling guilty about it!
I’ve always been a huge shoe lover. I feel like it can take your outfit to the next level, and in some cases it can really make or break the outfit. This Fall there are SO many fun options in the shoe department. It’s all about making a statement with the booties this fall, from metallic to floral print the options seem endless. I just spent forever rounding up some of the best fall bootie options for you. You can click on the images in the collage above to shop one of the booties pictured or shop below by category!
The kitten heel pointy toes look best when paired with a feminine skirt or distressed straight leg (a little wider than skinny) jeans. PS I saw THE Rebecca Minkoff rocking these from her line during NYFW! She paired them with a cute little black dress and it looked so adorable! And yes I was just a tad starstruck, hehe!
I’ve been back from New York Fashion Week for a full week now and still sorting through all my photos! I wore this outfit my first day in New York, this top is actually a dress but I paired it with some distressed jeans to help me stay warm once the sun set. I am excited to wear it as an actual dress next spring/summer – it will be the perfect vacation or weekend dress I am sure and is on sale now if you want to check it out here!
One of my favorite part about Fashion Week is the street style. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely ADORE fawning over all the new designs that come down the runway each season but I would say I equally love seeing all the great outfits that make their way onto the streets during this time. Since I was able to attend Fashion Week this year and got a front row view of what people are wearing I wanted to give you guys the inside scoop on the top 5 trends I am noticing for Fall ’17 based on what people were wearing to the shows this season.
And for all of you who like to plan ahead, don’t worry – I am working on my top trends for SS18 coming up soon. I like to wait until the other fashion weeks have passed (London, Milan, & Paris) so I can really get a good feel for what people are going to be reaching for next season. For now, read on to see what you should buy NOW!
White Booties – White shoes made their way onto the street style scene like none other this year at NYFW. From booties, to heels, to flats, white shoes were defintely one of the biggest trends I noticed. My favorite style was the white bootie with a bit of a kitten heel and a pointed toe, or the mod 70’s style looking boot in white. I loved them paired with jeans, mini skirts, flowing maxi’s – there really are endless ways to style white booties! Check out the photos below for some inspiration!
