Lace Favorites

I am having a little love affair with lace tops lately. Well, who am I kidding? This is nothing new, I have always had a thing for a sheer lace top with a little bralette underneath. You feel me?!¬†This one had me at hello! Especially since I had been recently eyeing another one that was almost $200 – and this one was $24 so yeah, you do the math ūüėČ

And of course I added a distressed denim jacket to the look to add a little roughness. The one I am wearing is from Zara about a year or two back but I am loving this one from Forever 21! I also linked a few others of my favorites below!

Gray, White, + Tan

I guess I have a thing for gray sweater dresses lately…haha, ya think?! I don’t know what it is but I just love gray and white together!¬†I decided to pair this sweater dress with a blazer to add a little structure against the softness of the sweater dress. I think it would also be super cute with a leather jacket though!

This bag is the perfect size for those of you who don’t like to pack a lot when you are out and about. Lately with a little one I am so thankful for smaller purses where I can just throw my phone, keys, a lipstick and I am good to go. Everything else can go in his diaper bag ūüėČ

Not So Basic, Basics…

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

¬†I think we all need those items in our closet that are our go-to pieces when we literally having “nothing” to wear! For me, that is usually a pointy black boot, black skinnies¬†(love these because they have a shiny coating!), and a white top. I love to mix in a little gray or some stripes from time to time and of course top it off with my favorite gold jewelry of the moment. Having some unique basics in your closet to reach for make getting dressed that much easier because you have a base to build off of.

I got this cardigan from all places…the GAP – haven’t shopped there in YEARS and am pleasantly surprised with this sweater! I was on the hunt for a long gray cardigan that resembled this Acne Studios one but that didn’t break the bank and this one fit the bill. It does run a bit large – I am wearing the small¬†but probably could have even gone for an XS (I am 5’2″ for reference!).

Also, I finally caved and got these Acne Studios Jensen boots! I’ve wanted them for the past few years and have always opted for a cheaper version but was sad when they wore out so fast. Hoping these ones last awhile!

I love that this top can be super casual or could work for a day at the office, super versatile and always important to have good white shirts in your closet!

Saturday Skincare Essentials

blogger skincare favoritesMy skincare favorites are always changing. Based on the season, my skin, and what new products are out I am constantly trying new things to improve my skin. Having a child wreaks havoc on your hormones, and ultimately your skin. For me the biggest change in my skin was with developing melasma¬†or “pregnancy mask” which is basically dark splotches on your face – ugh. Mine occurred under and around the eyes but also over the lip giving me a shadowy mustache, the worst! I have been using Eminence Bright skin Licorice root brightening serum to try to combat this – I’ve seen Lauryn Evarts¬†from The Skinny Confidential raving about this product for this specific reason so I am hoping and praying it does the trick!

Get rid of melasma fast

I’ve also been mindful of what types of chemicals I am putting on my face since have being pregnant and now that I am nursing. In general I try to keep my products as natural as possible – unless I just REALLY have to combat something and there isn’t a natural alternative!

Amala¬†Purifying Face Polish¬†¬†– I received this product to try this past month and it has honestly made such a difference on my skin already. I’ve always struggled with oil or combination skin and large pores and I am loving that this face wash has finely crushed bamboo¬†that help to gently exfoliate my skin while cleaning it daily. It also has green tea which is a super powerful antioxidant and is beneficial on so many levels including in skin care.

blogger skincare favoritesNuxe Multipurpose Dry Oil¬†– This is a product I have been using since I found out I was pregnant. I love that this oil has SO many different uses. I typically put it on my face after cleansing in the morning and use it as a moisturizer. I also love wearing it under my makeup as it gives me more of ¬†a ‘glow’ and works as a primer. The oil is also designed to be used on your body or hair as well so it definitely is worth the buy. I am thinking of trying the Nuxe oil with shimmer for when I want a little more of a glow.

blogger skincare favoritesHanalei Lip Treatment¬†– I received one of these in my Ipsy bag about a month or two back and it honestly couldn’t have come at a better time. My lips had been cracking and just all around super rough. I started using this every night before I went to bed and I am not lying when I say it is the only thing that improved my lips. I was using regular chapstick in the day and it felt like it was almost making my lips worse. When I started using this it was if they were being healed – I was obsessed. And then of course I lost my tube of it – haha! Never fails. I ordered more on amazon the next day and am back to using it every night. When I wake up to feed my little guy a couple hours after going to bed it is still on my lips. Crazy good.

blogger skincare favoritesCharlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick in ‘stoned rose’ – I originally tried this product because I wanted a lipstick that actually was good for my lips while giving me some color. These lipsticks have an antioxidant called ‘lipstick tree’ (not too sure what that is!?) but it is supposed to protect lips from UV damage which I am all for!!

Mommy Mode

new2Wow, what a month! My little guy turned 1 month old last week and I can’t believe how fast time has gone. Before I blink he will be 1 year old! I never imagined that becoming a mother could fill your heart with SO much LOVE for one little human being! It definitely changes you in ways I could have never imagined – all for the good!

We have been having a LOT of rain here in SoCal so when the sun came out yesterday I jumped at the opportunity to take a little walk (and take some photos not gonna lie haha!). As soon as we started taking pictures the little munchkin woke up and started crying…typical, right?! I think he just wanted to make sure he made an appearance on the¬†blog as well ūüėČ

This sweater dress is kind of THE perfect dress for me right now. Well, I’ve always been a fan of oversized sweaters but even better now that I have a little baby weight to shed still. For sizing reference I am wearing an XS (I am also 5’2″ so keep that in mind!)

How to style OTK bootsAnd I am still steady rocking my Stuart Weitzman ‘lowland’ boots – told you guys, such a good investment! Here is another really similar pair though for a fraction of the price!

OLAY Ultra Moisture Body Wash with NEW Lock-In-Moisture technology

Believe it or not, even during the winter months in Southern California we still suffer from‚Ķyou guessed it – dry skin! Although our ‚Äėwinters‚Äô aren‚Äôt nearly as harsh as those back east, or where I am from in the Midwest, we still get enough chill in the air to dry out our skin. And trust me, there is nothing sexy about ashy legs and arms when you want to slip on that chic little silk slip¬†dress for a night out, or when you are climbing into comfy pajama‚Äôs with itchy skin.

I recently came across the Olay Ultra Moisture Body Wash, which uses new Lock-In-Moisture technology, and I fell in love. To be honest, I wasn’t someone who even really used body wash before. I typically liked to keep things simple and stick to a bar of soap, but that got boring after a while and just wasn’t doing the trick as far as keeping my skin moisturized and smooth.
The first thing I noticed after using the reformulated Ultra Moisture Body Wash was that my skin actually felt CLEAN and SOFT; like I just scrubbed it down with a bar of soap clean, but without the dried out ashy look. Instead, it looked and felt super silky smooth, delivering visible results with an invisible feel.

After reading up about the body wash, I learned that the Olay Ultra Moisture Body Wash is the first and only to use the ingredient Pro-Glycerin –¬†which I LOVE because it is a naturally derived ingredient from sunflowers. And if you have been following my blog for a while now, you know I love a good natural product, or ones that at least use more natural ingredients! Pro- Glycerin allows the moisturizers to be quickly absorbed into the skin, and treat dryness at the source.

I have found that keeping my skin moisturized is KEY to looking younger for as long as possible. I am constantly looking for the next best moisturizer and this product was shown to improve dry skin in 100% of women, as well as giving you younger looking skin with continued use! So you can count me in!
